Truck fire halts Route 7 traffic in North Ferrisburgh on Monday; road open Tuesday

Firefighters closed Route 7 in North Ferrisburgh Monday afternoon after the responded to a truck fire there.

Firefighters from Vergennes, Ferrisburgh and Middlebury who were specially trained in water rescues took their boats to Central Vermont on Thursday and put their skills to good use.

Roads in Ferrisburgh, Monkton, New Haven and Starksboro were closed Thursday morning after heavy rains inundated the region overnight. 

The famous Ferrisburgh Grange “King Pede” card parties are scheduled for the Saturdays of July 6 and July 20. These community get-togethers are held at the Ferrisburgh Town Hall and Community Center.

Selected by FCS staff, 6th-grader Elke Yarbrough and 5th-grader Emry Mosehauer were selected to receive a certificate for their demonstration of kindness, compassion, respect and care for others, thus making the world a better place.
