Vermont’s statewide ban on cellphones in schools starts this year

Kids will be banned from using smartphones during the school day.

Then the Vermont House passed a bill Wednesday that stops short of its original ambition.

Heffernan said he is not transphobic. He said he’s not sure he would support the equal rights amendment, though, given his concerns about people who “use it for the extreme.”
