Letter to the editor: Skatepark’s funding at issue

A recent article on the front page of the Addison Independent reminds me of why we now have Trump, Musk and company in Washington, D.C., shutting off funding for many U.S. government agencies. The article noted that the proposed skate park renovation in Bristol will be partially funded with $140,000 from the ARPA.

While Addison County is still in the midst of a proper Vermont winter, plans are well underway for a weekend-long event that’ll gather local skaters, film buffs and outdoor enthusiasts in Bristol this summer.

Community members in Bristol are moving forward with efforts to revamp the town’s skatepark and make the recreation area more accessible and inclusive for all users.
