Artist paints natural landscape creeping up side of a silo

The Middlebury College Recycling Center silo is getting a new look that could be an example for other abandoned farm storage structures in Vermont.

“Sometimes we are so possessive of the earth that we want to use up all of its offerings, but we should remember that we are all only on earth for a very short time. It’s not something that we own but something that we are renting for a very short while.”

Sparrow Art Supply, one of the emerging businesses tapped by Kick Start last summer, will mark its grand opening this Friday.

The Middlebury Studio School’s longtime quest to bring arts education back to the downtown has come to fruition, with the opening of a new branch in the Marble Works complex.
