MIDDLEBURY — Police on Saturday afternoon took into custody a 20-year-old Middlebury man who they said shot another man through an apartment door earlier in the afternoon. Dominick Ekroos faces a charge of attempted murder in the second degree; assault and robbery with injury resulting; and unlawful mischief. Andrew Kerr, 22, of Middlebury was shot and initially taken to Porter Hospital, but then airlifted to UVM Medical Center, where he underwent surgery Saturday evening for undisclosed injuries.
