County teens to compete at 4-H Horse Roundup

Three Addison County teens will be traveling to the Eastern National 4-H Horse Roundup in Louisville, Ky., this fall: Shyanne Wedge of Shoreham in the Judging division, and Hannah Gendreau of Shoreham and Bella Shimel of Bridport in the Quiz Bowl division.

4-H members do well at hippology contest

Two local 4-H members placed in the 2024 State 4-H Hippology Contest on April 29 and May 5. Aliyah Bradford of Addison came in second in the Juniors 8-9 division and Tessa Buskey of North Ferrisburgh took home seventh in the Juniors 12-13 division.

The 2023 Addison County 4-H Achievement Night was held on Nov. 18 at Mary Hogan School in Middlebury. The evening was culmination of the 4-H year for the members who have worked hard on their project areas to receive recognition for their efforts.

For the second year in a row, Jonathan Chamberlin’s daughter, Paige, 9, was able to show animals at the Addison County Field Days Fair through the same 4-H lease program that he participated in as a child.
