Festival returns with all-Vermont lineup
MIDDLEBURY — It’s back!
Following a year’s hiatus, the Middlebury Summer Festival on-the-Green brings fabulous music back to the heart of Middlebury, Aug. 2 through 6. Kenyan-born performance artist KeruBo’s dynamic ensemble will kick off the all-Vermont lineup on Monday, Aug. 2. Great music continues with The Paul Asbell Quintet; Treetop Mansion, the new project of Clint Bierman and Peter Day (of Grift fame); Beg, Steal or Borrow, Vermont’s hottest bluegrass band; and Low Lily, an American folk/harmony string trio. Performances are from 7-9 p.m. daily. Events are held rain or shine under a tent on the Middlebury Village Green.
This year, organizers are raffling off two Vermont gift baskets brimming with an assortment of food products, artisan crafts, and/or gift certificates donated by many generous individuals and businesses. Each gift basket is valued at approximately $400 and will include items from multiple donors on this list: Amazing Vermont Calendars, Bee’s Wrap, Bread Loaf View Farm, Brown Novelty, Cabot Cheese, Champlain Valley Apiaries, Danforth Pewter, Farmhouse Chocolates, Flower & Soul, Greenhaven Gardens & Nursery, Heffernan Family Sugarworks, Juice Amour, Lincoln BDart Cards, lu•lu Vermont farm-to-spoon ice cream, Maple Landmark Woodcraft, Marijke’s Perennial Gardens Plus, Middlebury Floral & Gifts, Middlebury Studio School, Middlebury Sweets, Norton’s Gallery of Woodcarvings, Rockers Pizzeria, Seedsheets, Solar Haven Farm, Thistle Ridge Dairy Goat Farm, Vermont Coffee Company, Vermont Honeylights, and Pat Zeliff.
