Area golfers fare well in tourneys

MIDDLEBURY — Young Ralph Myhre Golf Course members fared well at the Vermont Junior Stroke Play Championship, which Ralph Myhre hosted on Aug. 2.
Lucas Politano won the 10-to-12-year-old division, Thomas Politano took fourth in the 13-15 division, and Hogan Beazley finished sixth in the 16-18 competition.
In this past weekend’s annual Ralph Myhre Hawaiian Open, the foursome of Bob Cameron, Beazley, Brent Raymond and Dave Campbell earned top honors.
The team of Jill Jesso-White, Dale White, Bert Phinney and Ric Wheeler took second, and the quartet of Steve Myhre, Ahleiyah Mason-Rivera, Kris Kelton and Keri Richmond finished third.
Kelly Kelton, Bert Phinney, Erika Politano and Derrick Cram won closest-to-the-pin contests.
On July 30 on the Lake St. Catherine course, Ralph Myhre members competed at a VSWGA Women’s State Day tournament. Nicole Laberge took fifth place in gross score in the second flight, Eileen Sims tied for the second place gross score in the third flight, and Kathy Mackey tied for the second best net score in the third flight.
In weekly Thursday Bill Davidson Men’s Golf play on Aug. 1, the trio of Jim Johnston, Brent Raymond and Marsdin Van Order took first, with Mike Adams, George Ramsayer and Neil Mackey in second. Adams earned the day’s best net score.
