Live online: The Quarantine Sessions

TOWN HALL THEATER'S online video series, The Quarantine Sessions, featured Josh Collier, tenor and star of the Opera Company of Middlebury.

Because we could all use some light right now, Town Hall Theater is launching The Quarantine Sessions. Every day this week and beyond, the Middlebury theater will feature a THT star performer, resident company or staff member in a series of short videos for your viewing pleasure.
“We’re keeping the arts alive in our homes — and delivering it to you,” THT’s Facebook post said on Monday.
Episode 1 featured THT founder and artistic director Douglas Anderson, accentuating the positive on his ukulele.
“The idea took off right away,” Anderson said in a phone interview, explaining that he actually made his video as a template to send around to the other performers as an example. “We want to keep it light and fun… and somehow my example became the first one of the sessions. It sets a low bar — all the other performers will be much better.”
Humility. Ah. But this little video reached 2,500 people right off the bat on the digital platforms.
“We are so lucky to be going through this coronavirus outbreak at a time when we have social media,” Anderson said. “The world is still out there. It’s been a delightful way to connect with people and reconnect with the THT family. Here at THT we still feel our responsibility to get out and entertain people.”
Episode 2 brought on Clint Bierman from The Grift with a brilliant, and hilarious, ballad. Who’s next? Log on to find out.
