SALISBURY — In spite of the restrictions imposed by COVID-19 this summer, there’s plenty going on in and around Salisbury. Here’s a teaser or two: 
The Salisbury Congregational Church is holding a rummage sale this weekend. According to the organizers, there will be many free items. It will be held under tents on the lawn both Friday and Saturday, Aug. 28 and 29, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Proceeds are to go to local food programs. Please plan to bring and wear masks.
Also, the Salisbury Library is alive and well. The annual fundraising effort has been very successful, and heartfelt thanks go out to the community for their generous response. The librarian and the trustees are considering when and how to reopen safely.
Nevertheless, Librarian Ruth Bernstein has been busy providing many services such as fielding special requests, stocking many new titles, increasing audiobook and e-book holdings, and even making deliveries, including activity boxes for children. She has also provided “step side” deliveries of the orders, as well as boxes of free books, games and puzzles, “on the steps.” And you don’t have to live in Salisbury to request a card to use the Salisbury Free Public Library. 
There is also free WiFi at the Library. It can be accessed from a car or the blue picnic table behind the library kindly donated by Liz and Wil Mackey.

The Conservation Committee, in the person of John Metcalfe, reports that the two wildlife cameras are in working order and available at the library to be borrowed. They can be borrowed like other library materials with a call or e-mail.
The painting project of the upstairs of Salisbury Town Hall has continued throughout the summer. After 108 volunteer hours, the Community Room walls and woodwork have a new look. The next step will be picture moldings to display historic Salisbury photos. The Town Hall Committee and the Historical Society look forward to planning an event to celebrate the improvement.
