Bristol Police Log: Routine tasks and false alarms

BRISTOL — Between April 12 and 18 Bristol police completed 10 foot patrols, conducted three car patrols, monitored traffic during school dismissal twice, and checked security at Mount Abraham Union High School seven times, at Bristol Elementary School six times, and at local businesses seven times.
Police also completed at least six fingerprint requests, served two people with court paperwork, conducted three welfare checks without incident, facilitated the return of one loose dog and responded to two alarms that turned out to be false.
The department also assisted Vermont State Police twice, Bristol Rescue once and Middlebury police once.
In other recent activity, Bristol police:
•  On April 12 investigated a tenant dispute and determined it was a civil matter.
•  On April 14 investigated a report of damage to a vehicle parked in the Prince Lane parking lot the previous day and will file a report.
•  On April 14 responded to a two-car crash and will complete a report.
•  On April 15 helped the Department of Public Works remove a large tree limb from the roadway.
•  On April 15 investigated a motor vehicle complaint but were unable to find the vehicle.
•  On April 16 investigated a loose-dog complaint and issued the owner a warning.
•  On April 16 responded to a dispute between two people and, though no action rose to the level of an offense, suggested the parties avoid each other.
•  On April 18 investigated a report of a suspicious person and determined that the person was just out for an early-morning walk.
