Gas-hauling truck fire strikes Route 7 in Ferrisburgh again

FIREFIGHTERS USE A perch high in a ladder truck to rain water down on a burning tractor-trailer unit hauling natural gas on Route 7 in Ferrisburgh Monday afternoon. The site north of Greenbush Road was eerily close to a similar incident one year ago.

When a truck hauling gas caught fire on Route 7 last year, the Ferrisburgh fire chief thought it was a once in a career event. Then it happened again this week — and many firefighters turned out to help douse the blaze.
