Turtle check helpers wanted

SALISBURY — The Salisbury Conservation Commission invites the community to join herpetologist Jim Andrews as he checks his live turtle traps on the north end of Lake Dunmore on Thursday, July 13, from 9-11 a.m.

Attendees will get to see and handle the turtles that are caught, as Jim discusses their identification and natural history. No matter what is caught, Jim will bring the shells of five of Vermont’s seven turtle species for participants to see and learn about.

This presentation is free and open to the public and will take place rain or shine as long and it is safe.

Parking will be at 87 North Pond Road in Salisbury and next door. Just follow the signs and don’t block the road.
