MONKTON — Melinda Jean “Mindy” Brace, 62 of Monkton passed away Oct. 26, 2026, at UVM Medical Center in Burlington, Vt. She was born April 10, 1964, in Burlington, the daughter of Linda Sweeney and William Waite. She worked in home healthcare for many years. She was a homemaker and worked in the Head Start Program when her youngest children were enrolled. She loved spending time with her family, especially her many grandbabies.
She is survived by her husband, John Brace Sr.; her six children, Heather and husband Jeremy, Vicki and husband Greg, Marion and boyfriend Luis, John Jr. and wife Breanna, Susan and husband Andrew, and Ethan and wife Autumn; stepmother, Micky; mother-in-law, Doris; fifteen grandchildren plus one on the way; brothers, William and girlfriend Megan, Edward and wife Becky, Michael and wife Jillian, James Patrick, Chuck and girlfriend Shelley, Jesse Sr. and wife Kim, and James Robert; sister Jessica and husband Paul; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her mother, Linda and stepfather, Bob; father, William Sr.; father-in-law, Wendell; sister Missy, and granddaughter Laelynn.
Funeral services and a celebration of life will be held Saturday Nov. 7, at 11 a.m. at Victory Baptist Church, Route 7, Vergennes, Vt.◊
