CITY OF VERGENNES: INFORMATIONAL MEETING
The City of Vergennes will hold a public informational hearing on Monday, November 2,
2026, at 6:00PM at The Vergennes Opera House. The meeting is a public
informational meeting regarding three important ballot questions that voters will consider
on Tuesday, November 3, 2026. The informational hearing will provide residents with
an opportunity to learn more about the following ballot articles and ask questions before
voting.
ARTICLE II
Shall the City of Vergennes approve the conveyance of a leasehold interest
to T-Mobile Northeast LLC in the existing leased premises at the City Water
Tower, Main and North Streets, for an initial five-year extended term beginning
July 23, 2026, at an initial monthly rent of approximately $4,900, increasing by
5% annually, and three automatic additional five-year renewal terms, subject to
the Tenant’s right not to renew, for a maximum term ending July 22, 2046; and
authorize the Mayor to execute the amendment under the City Seal and cause
the conveyance to be recorded pursuant to Section 26(a) of the City Charter?
ARTICLE III
Shall the voters of the City of Vergennes advise the City Council that they
support the City’s acquisition of the real property and improvements located
at 20 Armory Lane, Vergennes, Vermont, for the purchase price of $1.00,
plus customary closing and transaction costs, for municipal and community
purposes, including recreation and youth programming? (This article is advisory
and non-binding.)
The legal voters of the City of Vergennes are further notified that voter
qualification, registration and absentee voting relative to said meeting shall be
as provided in Chapters 43, 51 and 55 of Title 17, Vermont Statutes Annotated.
The legal voters of the City of Vergennes are further notified that a public
informational meeting will be held on Monday, November 2, 2026, at Vergennes
Opera House in the City of Vergennes at six o’clock (6:00) in the evening
(p.m.), for the purpose of explaining and receiving public comment on the
proposed T-Mobile leasehold conveyance (Article II) and the advisory question
concerning the City’s acquisition of 20 Armory Lane (Article III). Such hearing
will be available by Zoom as well.
Voting Information: Voting will be on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, from 9:00 AM – 7:00
PM at St. Peter’s Parish Hall, 85 South Maple Street, Vergennes, VT 05491. Residents are
encouraged to attend the informational hearing, ask questions, and learn more about
each of these important ballot questions before casting their votes.
