RIPTON — Geraldine M. Jackson, born July 26, 1946, passed away Sept. 21, 2026, peacefully at home, surrounded by those who loved her most.
Geraldine met the love of her life, Homer Jackson, and they married Aug. 28, 1965. Together, they raised four children, Debra, Bill, Kevin and Scott. In 1976, they moved their family to Ripton, creating countless memories along the way.
Geraldine was a strong, straightforward woman who always said exactly what was on her mind. Family was everything to her, especially the holidays, when everyone could be together. She cherished family trips to Maine, shopping, long drives, playing cards, and her favorite milkshakes from Ignite. She spent countless hours sitting in her chair, looking out the window, watching nature and the people around her.
Geraldine is survived by her four children, Debra and her husband, Mike Alger; Bill Jackson (Angela); Kevin Jackson and his longtime partner, Sara Thorpe; and Scott Jackson and his wife, Theresa. She is also survived by her 10 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and her many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Homer; her parents, William and Grace Vassau; her sister, Helena Cousineau; her brother, Ronald Vassau; her daughter-in-law, Jackie Jackson; her great-granddaughter, Ava Grace; and Sherry Brown, whom she loved as a daughter.
The family would also like to acknowledge a special friend, Christina Walker and her family, along with her best friend, Ruth Nolan.
Her love, laughter, and memories will live on in her family forever.
A funeral service in celebration of her life will be held Saturday, Sept. 26, at noon, on the dock at the family’s home. A graveside committal service and burial will follow in Cook Cemetery in Ripton.
