LAS VEGAS, Nev. — James Murray, of Las Vegas Nev., passed away Sept. 3, 2026, at University Medical Center Hospital, Las Vegas.

He was born Oct. 15, 1955, in Middlebury, Vt., the son of Thomas and Lucienne (Borthwick) Murray. Jim was predeceased by his parents and his sisters Jean Peryea of East Middlebury and Shirley Ann (Murray) Tiratto, of Medina, Ohio.

Jim spent his childhood, in Vergennes, Vt. Throughout his life he held fond memories of those years. He loved to travel. His travels included several trips to Europe, cruises and of course, multiple trips to his beloved Vermont.

Jim is survived by his life partner of 47 years, David Gorka; by his sister Mary (Murray) Wilks, of Vero Beach, Fla.; brother Maurice (Tom) Murray and his wife Patricia of Seville, Ohio; and multiple loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A service will be held in May 2027 in Vergennes, Vt. and Jim will be laid to rest at St. Peter’s Cemetery. ◊
