George L. Supernault, 68, of Orwell
ORWELL — George L. Supernault, 68, of Orwell died Aug. 22, 2026, at the Jack Byrnes Palliative & Hospice Center in Lebanon, N.H.
He was born in North Adams, Mass., April 3,1958, the son of Leonard and Barbara (Roedel) Supernault.
George moved to Waterbury, Vt., around 1959 and attended grade school there. He later moved to Barre, Vt., and graduated from Spaulding High School in 1976.
George was a hunter safety course instructor for 35 years, a bow hunting safety instructor for 40 years, and a den leader and cub master.
George ran Diagnault Hill Sports in Benson and Orwell for many years, he was a LNA for 25 years between Porter, Genesis, and Mckerley’s Beverly Manor and Berlin Convalescence Center in Barre Vt. He was a cook at Maplefields in Shoreham for many years, and then retired.
His hobbies were hunting, fishing, playing corn hole, camping and cruising.
He belonged to the order of Free and Accepted Masons Independence Lodge in Orwell and St. Paul’s Lodge in Brandon for 40 years and was a past Worshipful master, past district deputy and past grand lodge officer as well as a member of the Order of the Eastern Star of Vermont Grand Chapter. He was a past worthy patron and past grand worthy patron, GGCCM on regenerative medicine, grand representative to Ontario in Vermont and a member of New Hampshire eastern star.
He is survived by his wife, Meridith (Grant); his children, Matthew Supernault of Orwell, Marisa Supernault and spouse Michelle Rupel of Ohio, and Kate Supernault of Orwell; his sister, Ann (Supernault) and Husband Brian Grande of Adams Mass.; and five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and several cousins.
He was predeceased by his parents, Leonard and Barbara (Roedel) Supernault.
Funeral services will be held at the First Congregational Church of Orwell on Aug. 29, 2026, at 1 p.m. The burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery in Orwell with a Masonic service with family. A reception after the burial will be held at the church.
