Opinion: Janoo’s for you and me too

Amanda Janoo is my choice for governor of Vermont, hands down.

Amanda has the experience and expertise to help us develop thriving communities in Vermont in which everyone has good health and universal primary care, available and affordable housing, accessible transportation, lifelong education, a vibrant natural world with zero carbon emissions and meaningful work at a livable wage.

This is the core of a well-being economy. Formerly part of the Well-being Economy Alliance, Amanda has helped countries and municipalities develop a new approach to living together. (See, for example, Wales’s Well-being Act of 2015.) She is the lead economist with Well-being Alliance of Vermont. Born and educated in Strafford (near Brattleboro), she obtained a master’s in development studies at Cambridge, where she studied under renowned economist Ha-Joon Chang. Her leadership approach is to work with communities to empower them to become their own source of strength.

Amanda Janoo is the most capable person we have had as a candidate for governor in the 39 years I’ve lived in Vermont. If we don’t elect her, we will have missed a golden opportunity. Amanda’s website: janooforvt.com
