Charlotte K. Chase, formerly of Middlebury
MIDDLEBURY — Charlotte K. Chase died peacefully at her home. Charlotte was a long time Addison County resident before needing to move. She was born to Rufus and Katherine Chase in Newport, R.I., where she was raised. She later attended Wheaton College in Wheaton, Ill., in the footsteps of her father.
She went on to become a teacher and later transitioned to working in the Student Activities Office at Middlebury College. Throughout her life it has been extremely important for her to serve her community of Middlebury and Addison County. She has spent countless hours volunteering at Charter House, HOPE, Addison County Restorative Justice and other organizations.
Friends and family have all been spoiled by her love and caring, which was often shown by baked goods or the latest quilting project left on the doorstep. Her dedication to helping others created a special bond with those she touched and will be remembered always.
She is survived by her son John Reno (Theresa), daughter Pam Larson (Todd) and grandchildren Amanda, Brian, Patrick and JT as well as countless friends and family members. A memorial service is planned for July 11 at 2 p.m. at the Middlebury Congregational Church with reception to follow. Donations can be made in Charlotte’s honor to HOPE, Charter House or a local charity in your area. ◊
