Filming event brings L.A. to Middlebury
DIRECTOR MICHAEL VALDEZ looks out into the crowd of 86 movie extras in Town Hall Theater and picks a few lucky individuals in the crowd to rise first to cue the staged standing ovation during filming on Monday, Aug. 25. Valdez and producer Alex Knapp (back left) came to Middlebury for the film festival and stayed in town to shoot the final crowd scene for their upcoming film, “Down Below.”

On Monday night, 86 community-members-turned-movie-extras filmed a standing ovation scene for “Down Below.”
