Golfers have eventful week

MIDDLEBURY — Ralph Myhre Golf Club members had an eventful week of play both home and away. At the VSWGA State Day match at Neshobe Golf Club on July 29, Ralph Myhre’s Nicole Laberge placed second gross (95) in the third flight, and Eileen Sims finished fourth gross (111) in the fourth flight.

In another VSWGA State Day event at the Kwiniaska Golf Club on July 29, local scores included:

• Jean Goodwin: Flight 2, 9th gross tie (103)

• Eva Mastalos: Flight 2, tied 1st net (70)

• Giselle Lafleche: Flight 3, tied 2nd net (74)

Thursday Men’s Golf at Ralph Myhre on July 31 saw the team of Robert Cameron, Thomas White, Robert Kirkpatrick and Ken Hypes claim first place at 14-under. Cameron also earned low net honors with a score of 68.

Second place went to Dan Small, Mike Adams, Matthew Biette and John Davis, while Jim Johnston, Gary Wright and Uwe Luksch came in third.

Thursday also marked the start of the two-day Vermont Junior Tour Stroke Play Championship at Ralph Myhre. Club member Brady Fallon tied for fourth (161) in the Boys’ 15-18 Division.

In Friday’s Mixer, quartet Garvi Jesso-White, Dale White, Jill White and Alex Kelly won with a score of 32. Doug Hawley, Linda Hawley, Gene Lebeau and Cindy Lebeau placed second, and Ben Cadoret, Karen Holbrook, Jamie Coburn and Jamie Cram finished third.

Ralph Myhre also hosted its most festive event of the summer with the 2025 Hawaiian Open, a four-person scramble on Sunday, Aug. 3. Team Rouselle secured their first-place victory after finishing 15-under par. Team Johnson claimed second place, Team Desabrais took third, and Team Holbrook followed in fourth.
