Softball playoffs open

The Mount Abraham softball team finished the regular season at 11-3 and was seeded No. 2, the highest seed among local squads, in the Division II tournament. The Eagles received a first-round bye and will host a Friday quarterfinal against No. 10 Milton (7-9) at 4:30 p.m., weather permitting.
