Lincoln news for Mar. 6

The library’s community room display for March is “Lincoln’s Lincoln: A Revolutionary Hero and the Sword that Made America” by Lucinda Cockrell. The exhibit, by the Lincoln Historical Society, will highlight the 1780 charter of Lincoln, Vt., and how the town came to be named for Revolutionary War Major General Benjamin Lincoln. Visitors to the exhibit will witness the scope of American independence through one of George Washington’s most trusted commanders, from the events leading up to the Revolutionary War through the Battles of Bennington, Saratoga, Charleston, and Yorktown.
