ORWELL — Orwell Fortnightly Club has met every other week for over 125 years. The club raises funds, makes donations, and provides service hours for the benefit of Orwell neighbors. A sampling of current projects includes maintaining two public gardens on Orwell’s village green, providing holiday wreath decorations throughout town, and offering scholarships and donations for the benefit of local students at the elementary, middle and high schools.

The Fortnightly Club is independent and welcomes new members. The club opened its fall season with a celebration on the green Sept. 8. The return of Tuesday night bi-weekly meetings begins on Oct. 8.
