1876 gravestone returned to burial site

ELISA FANTE, LEFT, found on her Charlotte property a gravestone for a child who died in 1876 and turned it over to Reg Dearborn, center, and Don Lathrop, who helped get the marble marker returned to its original resting place in Bristol’s Greenwood Cemetery next to the monuments for the child’s parents.

In early August, Don Lathrop, president of the Bristol Cemetery Association for Greenwood Cemetery, received a call from Elisa Fante of Charlotte, indicating she had a gravestone on her property for a baby who died in 1876.
