Bristol Police Log: Woman arrested after violating orders
BRISTOL — Bristol police on Aug. 8 arrested Gabriella Mowry, 27, of Bristol after investigating report of a violation of an abuse prevention order.
Police had on July 25 cited Mowry for domestic assault following a citizen dispute on Mountain Street.
Between July 21 and Aug. 10 Bristol police completed eight foot patrols, conducted 21 traffic stops and checked security at Mount Abraham Union High School 20 times, at Bristol Elementary School 20 times and at local businesses 19 times.
Police also processed 22 fingerprint requests, responded to one 911 hang-up call, conducted four sex offender registry checks, responded to one alarm activated by an employee error and verified one vehicle identification number.
In other recent activity, Bristol police:
• On July 22 received a complaint about an alleged theft in the West Street area. Investigation is ongoing.
• On July 23 received a report of child neglect on Main Street. Investigation is ongoing.
• On July 23 responded to a domestic dispute on Basin Street and found no action rose to the level of an offense.
• On July 24 received a lost dog and returned the animal to its owner.
• On July 24 responded to a report of someone sleeping under a park bench on West Street, which resulted in police arresting Samuel Carpenter, 30, of Arlington for violation of conditions of release and resisting arrest.
• On July 24 helped the Bristol Department of Public Works with a tree blocking both travel lanes on Lower Notch Road.
• On July 25 responded to a 911 hang-up call on Pumphouse Road. While investigating, police cited Travis Huestis, 44, of Bristol for violating conditions of release.
• On July 26 looked into a citizen complaint on Lawson Lane. Investigation is ongoing.
• On July 26 responded to a parking lot crash on Mountain Street.
• On July 27 began investigating a theft from a vehicle on Munsill Avenue.
• On July 29 provided an individual seeking assistance with social service contacts.
• On July 30 received a report of unauthorized credit card use in Bristol. Investigation is ongoing.
• On July 30 arrested Alishajane Martin, 31, of Bristol, on a warrant issued by Chittenden Criminal Court for failure to appear.
• On July 30 responded to a motor vehicle complaint on West Street. Police didn’t observe any violations.
• On July 30 received a report of a custody dispute on Rockydale Road. Police determined no action rose to the level of an offense at the time and referred the matter to family court.
• On July 30 responded to a citizen dispute on Mountain Street. Police determined the matter was a civil issue and offered suggestions for reaching a resolution.
• On July 30 responded to a noise disturbance on Spring Street. Police reported the involved people were enjoying a small gathering and would make less noise.
• On Aug. 1 responded to a two-car crash on Main Street.
• On Aug. 2 helped someone in need of transportation on North Street.
• On Aug. 2 responded to Prince Lane for an elderly resident in need of assistance and provided transportation.
• On Aug. 3 helped someone on Mountain Street with a property dispute. Police determined no action rose to the level of an offense and provided options for resolving the matter.
• On Aug. 4 helped someone find a resource to resolve a dispute.
• On Aug. 5 responded to a motor vehicle complaint on Mountain Street. The vehicle was gone when police arrived.
• On Aug. 6 responded to an animal complaint on Vincent Drive. A neglect case is ongoing.
• On Aug. 7 investigated a possible court order violation on Mountain Street and determined no action rose to the level of an offense.
• On Aug. 8 received a report of a dog running in the roadway near Memorial Park. The dog was gone when police arrived.
• On Aug. 9 responded to an argument on Firehouse Drive. Police found no evidence of an offense.
• On Aug. 10 assisted someone receiving unwanted messages and determined no action rose to the level of an offense.
