Bristol Police Log: Police investigate altercation between kids

BRISTOL — Bristol police on March 15 received a report of an altercation between juveniles at the Bristol Town Green. Police are investigating the incident. 

Between March 10 and 23 Bristol police completed 37 foot patrols and one car patrol, conducted 15 traffic stops, and checked security at Mount Abraham Union High School 15 times, at Bristol Elementary School 14 times, and at local businesses 11 times. 

Police also processed 13 fingerprint requests and helped one person gain access to their locked vehicle. 

In other recent activity, Bristol police: 

• On March 11 responded to a report of unlawful mischief on Adirondack View. An investigation is ongoing. 

• On March 11 assisted Bristol Elementary School with a truancy concern. 

• On March 11 helped individuals involved in a disagreement reach a solution. 

• On March 11 assisted someone on Plank Road who was the target of an internet scam. 

• On March 12 helped South Burlington Police obtain a witness statement. 

• On March 12 received a theft complaint on West Street. Police determined vehicle registration plates had been stolen and entered them into a law enforcement database system. 

• On March 14 received a delayed report of a crash involving a deer on North Street. Police completed a report for insurance purposes. 

• On March 19 responded to a motor vehicle complaint at the intersection of Main and North streets. Police did not observe any violations. 

• On March 20 responded to a motor vehicle complaint on West Street, but the vehicle was gone when police arrived. 

• On March 20 picked up a dog on West Street and returned the animal to its owner on South Street. 

• On March 20 responded to a citizen dispute on West Street. The individuals involved were gone when police arrived. 

• On March 23 responded to a crash on Stoney Hill.
