JEFF H. VALLEY
MIDDLEBURY — On Nov. 1, 2022, Jeff Valley left this world for a new adventure.
Jeff was born Oct. 25, 1956, to Clifford “Kip” and Joanne (Dudley) Valley of Shoreham, Vt.
Jeff spent his childhood attending Shoreham Elementary School and then went on to Middlebury Union High School, where he played football and was on the wrestling team. Who could forget that pass interception and 78-yard return for a touchdown!
Staying around the area, Jeff worked as an auto mechanic, bartender, carpenter, mason and a house mover. He worked on the renovations of Middlebury’s Main Street Bridge, The Congregational Church steps and many homes in the area. Many people have benefited from Jeff’s handiwork and don’t even know it. You may have been served by him at the Alibi back in the day.
Jeff enjoyed music, motorcycles and cars. If you were friends with Jeff, you were friends for life.
Jeff lived life his way, no regrets, but cancer caught up with him. He fought right up till the end. He spent his last days at home, as he said, “with the love of my life,” Julie Johnson. His only regret was leaving her.
Jeff is predeceased by his father (2006). He leaves behind his mother, Joanne Valley of Shoreham; daughter, Stephanie Anne Valley; brothers, Tom and his wife Annette Valley, Bill Valley, Brian and wife Gigi Valley, and Peter and wife Rebecca Valley; plus nieces and nephews; and a boatload of friends and his soulmate, Julie.
A celebration of life is being planned for the first weekend in August.◊
