Robbery suspect in pajama pants is sought in Vergennes

Vergennes police released this image of the suspect in the New Year’s robbery at Maplefields.
VERGENNES — Police in Vergennes are asking for the public’s help in finding a young man who broke into a city convenience store on the night of New Year’s Day.
Police on Monday issued this request for assistance:
“The City of Vergennes Police Department is looking for assistance locating an individual involved in a break-in at Maplefields in Vergennes around 11:50 PM on January 1st. The male individual walked to the store carrying a rock which he used to break the front door. The individual is described as a young white male with brown hair, wearing gray slippers, black socks, black/gray plaid fleece pajama pants, a black jacket, and an orange hooded sweatshirt, which was used to conceal his face. The individual was also wearing a dark-colored bracelet on his left wrist.
“Anyone with any information, please contact the Vergennes Police Department, case Officer Mark Barber at 802-877-1152.”
