Horseshoe pitchers converge on Bristol

BRISTOL — The Sodbusters Horseshoe Pitching Club drew 128 pitchers to their Bristol courts this past Saturday and Sunday for the New England Championship Tournament. More than half of the competitors came from outside Vermont, and all six New England States were represented.

Dakota Santor was the only Vermont winner; he posted three wins and one loss to take the Junior Boys’ division title.

Local residents Debra Brown (third in Women’s A division) and Brian Simmons (sixth in Men’s A) were other local standouts.

The tournament saw 13 competitors from Massachusetts, 17 from New Hampshire, 28 from Connecticut, six from Rhode Island and two from Maine, as well as 62 from the Green Mountain State.
