Brandon gets the blues

This Wednesday, Aug. 11, Brandon will welcome blues enthusiasts for the Vermont Blues Retreat — a four-day adult camp with master classes, workshops, discussions, jam sessions, rehearsals and public performances. The retreat will culminate in a faculty concert at Brandon Music on Saturday, Aug. 14, at 7:30 p.m.
The Vermont Blues Retreat is produced in collaboration with Hands-On Music, creating community and educational programs since 1989, and the venues Compass Music and Arts Center and Brandon Music. This year’s retreat has assembled an all-star faculty featuring Dennis Willmott, leader of the popular blues jam at 51 Main, Middlebury and his own band Left Eye Jump, on guitar and vocals and musician’s musician Paul Asbell, also on guitar. Also on board are the incomparable Kenny B on bass, Jeff Salisbury on drums, Chuck Eller on keyboards and Joe Moore on sax.
Registration in advance is required. For more info visit Vermontbluesretreat.com.
