Otter Valley girls’ hoop falls in D3 playoffs

ORLEANS — Top-seeded host Lake Region remained unbeaten by ousting the No. 8 Otter Valley Union High School girls’ basketball team, 60-32, in a Division III quarterfinal played on Saturday.
Sakoya Sweeney (19) and Tia Martinez (13) combined for 32 points for the winning Rangers.
Senior Mallory Lufkin (12 points) and junior Alice Keith (10) led the way in the scoring column for OV.
The Otters finished 4-6 after winning three of their final five games, including a convincing first-round playoff victory.
