Letter to the editor: Biden has ‘cut a hole’ in the border fence

Biden’s First 100 Days: We had a Republican President who lied and took advantage of his office in order to better his family and his rich friends. Some of what he did, I felt was good and some not good.
He closed the Mexican Border which stopped migrants from coming in, but that also cut off our tourist business and our trade with Mexico. Now we have a Democratic president who has cut a hole in the fence and now we have thousands of migrants coming in like a herd of heifers heading for the corn fields.
We already have Mexicans working in the United States. They are an asset to the farming community. They work hard. Are they causing trouble? I don’t think so. Yet they have to hide because some are here illegally and if caught they would be going back through this same hole that Biden has cut.
The ones that are coming in, are they legal? NO. Are they being tested for Covid-19? NO. Are they wearing masks? NO. Are they 6 feet from each other? NO. Are they quarantining? NO. Are they bringing more diseases into our country? Who knows. My guess? Probably.
What is it going to cost to feed them, to house them? Where is this money coming from? Are they going be able to find a job or will we be paying them unemployment? Oh that’s right, this is the work of our “elected” politicians. They can just “print off more money.”
This country has veterans, homeless people, kids going to bed hungry, flood victims and hurricane victims, you name it, that sure could use this money. There is an old saying: the higher you climb the ladder the dumber you get. I thought our last four years was the height we could go, but man-o-man this president has found a higher ladder!
