We are young people who grew up in Vergennes and we know what is at stake. 
We have witnessed our local and national leaders fail to collaborate on the most important issues of our time, fail to put the people’s interests first, and fail to act with integrity and honesty. We are tired of it. As the future generation of Vergennes and the United States at large, we are advocating for leaders that will work together to build trusting and loving communities that work for everyone. In our little city this person is Dave Small. 
We have gotten to know Dave quite well since our previous city leadership fell into shambles, and we are proud to endorse him as the best candidate for the upcoming City Council election. He is kind, genuine, and focused on the issues; he is never out to make things personal. He believes in transparent government that is accountable to the people. We share with him a bold vision of Vergennes that is inclusive, vibrant, and economically thriving. Like us, Dave recognizes the importance of innovative decision-making that is always informed by the past and by lived experiences of everyday people. 
Dave knows that this election is not about him and that is precisely why we support him. City leadership is about setting one’s ego aside, bringing people together, and doing right by the community. Dave is running because he cares deeply about our city and recognizes that a leader’s job is to unify and serve every resident. 
As kids who learned how to ride our bikes here, went to school here (we all went to Vergennes Union High School), got our first jobs here, and are now young adults here, we have a stake in this community. We love Vergennes and will always fight for it. We wholeheartedly believe that a vote for Dave Small is a vote for our future; a future that is rooted in integrity, prosperity, and love for one’s neighbor.
