Boys’ hoop teams drop road games
ADDISON COUNTY — In local high school boys’ basketball action late last week, Mount Abraham, Otter Valley and Vergennes all came up short on the road.
EAGLES
On Friday host North Country improved to 11-2 with a 63-53 victory over Mount Abraham. Brett Roy led the Falcons with 20 points, 16 in the second half as NCU pulled away.
Liam Kelliher (14 points), Henry Cogswell (13) and Griffin Paradee (11) all reached double figures for the Eagles (7-7). Mount Abe will visit Missisquoi on Wednesday and host Vergennes on Saturday at 12:30 p.m.
COMMODORES
On Friday host Milton moved to 9-4 by defeating the Commodores, 60-49. Kyle Brown tossed in 21 for the Yellowjackets, all in the first three quarters.
Kevin Jackson paced VUHS with 16, and Ben Curtis hit four threes and finished with 12.
The Commodores are set to play at Twinfield on Monday and host Enosburg on Wednesday before visiting Bristol on Saturday.
OTTERS
On Thursday host Woodstock bested OV, 63-48. The second quarter was pivotal: The Wasps earned a 23-8 edge in that period as Cooper Dorsogna scored all 14 of his points.
Dylan Gaboriault (14 points) and Parker Todd (13) led the 3-9 Otters, who will host Mount St. Joseph on Wednesday.
