Farmer Coalition to meet on Wednesday

MIDDLEBURY — The Champlain Valley Farmer Coalition will hold its annual meeting and celebration next Wednesday, Jan. 22, in Middlebury. It promises to be an evening of fun and farm community engagement with dinner. 
The CVFC Annual Meeting is an opportunity to bring members together socially, to conduct the annual business of the organization, to hear and learn about current issues in agriculture, to be informed and stay up to date.
Nick Richardson, president and CEO of Vermont Land Trust, will be the guest speaker. He will discuss farm viability and sustainability and the effects of dairy and agricultural lands on our landscape and the local economy.
On a lighter note, Pierre Vachon and the Vermont Comedy Outlaws will entertain the crowd.
The event will take place at the Middlebury Veterans of Foreign Wars hall at 530 Exchange St. It will feature a cash bar and social hour at 5:30 p.m., dinner starts at 6:15 and the program starts at 7.
