Platt Memorial Library Preschool holds activity time Monday mornings from 10:30 to 11 a.m. and drop-in craft time from 9 a.m. to noon every Saturday.
The Shoreham Congregational Church and the elementary school are assembling Thanksgiving Baskets for those in need and are looking for donations. Suggested items include canned vegetables and fruit, potato mixes, stuffing mixes, gravy, pasta and sauce, cereals, canned tuna, canned meat, peanut butter, jelly/jam, muffin or quick bread mixes and granola bars. If you would prefer to make a monetary donation please send a check payable to Shoreham Congregational Church (memo: Thanksgiving Boxes). PO Box 177 Shoreham, VT 05770 Drop off donated items Friday, Nov. 22, at the school or Sunday, Nov. 24, between noon and 4 p.m. at the church.
St. Genevieve/Bernadette Parish members are continuing their warm clothing drive for area migrant workers. Donate your clean, new or lightly used warm clothes at the Town Office or at the outside collection box on the side porch at 99 Inn Rd. For more information, contact Kathleen at 897-5625. Suggested items to include are small and medium sized long johns, warm socks, vests, coats, fleece hoodies and flannel shirts.

Shoreham Annual Christmas Memory Tree Lighting Ceremony will be held on Sunday, Dec. 1, at 3 p.m. Join in this special event at the gazebo on School Rd. We will sing Christmas Carols, drink hot cocoa, enjoy Christmas treats and count-down to celebrate the lighting of the tree. The person who actually lights the tree will be the lucky winner of the tree lighting raffle. (Raffle tickets are available for $1 each). Donations may be made in memory of loved ones for $5. Bring an unwrapped present with you to donate to the HOPE Holiday Shop. For more info contact Marion at 897-5423. Forms will be available at the town office, library and from church members.
There will be a Holiday Makers Market on Saturday, Dec. 7, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Shoreham Community Center (former Masonic Hall). Space is available for rent for a $10 donation. Whatever you bake, sew or create can be sold. Contact Julie at 897-5841 or visit the Town Office to reserve your spot.
Mr. Claus will be at Platt Memorial Library on Saturday Dec. 7, from 2 to 4 p.m. We’ll read some old and new Christmas favorites and do a Christmas-themed craft. We’ll have cookies and milk. A perfect opportunity for a photo and a visit with Mr. Claus. On the same evening the Platt will hold Family Holiday Trivia Night from 5-7 p.m.
Shoreham Elementary School will hold their winter concert on Tuesday, Dec. 10, at 6:30 p.m., at the Middlebury Union High School auditorium at 73 Charles Ave in Middlebury. Admission is free.
The Addison County Gospel Choir will present a Christmas Concert at the Shoreham Congregational Church on Saturday, Dec. 14, at 7 p.m.
Platt Memorial Library will hold a Teen Advisory Council meeting on Wednesday, Dec. 18, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. The meeting is open to all teens ages 12 to 18 (6th graders included). Enjoy snacks, review advanced reader copies of new books and plan activities for 2020.
