Golfers Levins and Politano win club crowns

MIDDLEBURY — Two recent champions added titles this past Saturday at the Ralph Myhre Golf Course’s 2019 Women’s Club Championships.
Middlebury College senior Chloe Levins, a Rutland native, was the Low Gross winner; she had won the collegiate George Phinney Classic on Ralph Myhre back on Sept. 29. Placing second, third and fourth, respectively, at this Saturday’s championship were Kayla Li, Katie Murphy and Lizzie Kenter.
Otter Valley Union High School junior Mia Politano, who last week won the Vermont Division II championship at the Proctor-Pittsford Country Club, was the Low Net winner at Ralph Myhre on Saturday. Finishing second, third and fourth, respectively, were Maren O’Shea, Kathy Mackey and Eileen Sims.
In regular weekly results, the team of Dayton Contois, Ray Rovi, Steve Cooper and Bill Nilsson prevailed in the Oct. 9 Wednesday Men’s Scramble. The foursome of Don Keeler, Jeff McDonough, Jim Craig and Dean George took second.
In Thursday Bill Davidson Men’s Golf the next day the quartet of Richard Hodgeson, James Hadeka, William Brown and David Foran won, with the threesome of Donald Dayton, James Dayton and S. Maier taking second.
