Eagle girls’ soccer winning streak ends
RUTLAND — Host Division I Rutland defeated the Mount Abraham Union High School girls’ soccer team on Monday, 3-2, in a rain-swept game played on the Raiders’ artificial turf field.
The setback dropped the 8-2 Eagles into third place in a crowded D-II race and snapped their eight-game winning streak. Rutland improved to 3-7 with the win; their schedule has included eight D-I opponents.
Erin McClallen had a goal and an assist and Camryn Kinsman scored twice for Rutland.
Addy Harris converted a Mae Peterson corner kick to knot the score at 1-1 midway through the first half, and Lucy Guy made it 3-2 midway through the second half on another Peterson assist.
The Eagles’ remaining four games are against teams they have already defeated this season, starting with visits to Spaulding on Wednesday and Milton on Saturday.
