Two Sodbusters win state titles
BRISTOL — Two members of the Sodbusters Horseshoe Pitching Club earned titles when the group hosted the Vermont State Championships at their Bristol courts this past Sunday.
Nick Preston won the Men’s Class A title and Debra Brown won the Women’s Class A crown.
Other champions were: Neil Kennedy, who went 6-0 to win the Elders title, and Dakota Santor and Karsen Yerry share the Junior Cadet title.
A total of 66 pitchers competed.
The results for Sodbusters pitchers were:
Elders A: 1. Neil Kennedy and 4. Ron Williamson.
Men’s A: 4. Michael Devino, 5. John Remy and 8. Michael Brown.
Men’s B: 2. Nate Pelletier, 4. Ken Cassidy and 5. Leon Ross.
Men’s C: 2. Matt Coleman.
Men’s D: 4. Lou Cousino and 5. Maurice Cyr.
Men’s E: 4. Thomas Brooks Jr. and 5. Jackie Gorton.
Men’s F: 1. Robert Bergeron, 6. Barry Bassette and 7. Christopher Hudson.
Women’s A: 1. Debra Brown, 2. Georgia McCormick, 3. Vicki Pelletier, 4. Dawn Coleman and 5. Brianna McCormick.
Women’s B: 1. Mistylee Baird and 5. Jennifer Bassette.
Women’s C: 1. Vanesia MacArthur and 4. Beverly Forgues.
