Bridport’s Howlett takes crown as Miss Vermont Teen USA
BRIDPORT — Jenna Howlett of Bridport was named Miss Vermont Teen USA 2019 at the conclusion of a Nov. 4 competition at the Spruce Peak Performing Arts Center in Stowe. That same day Bethany Garrow of Rutland Town was crowned Miss Vermont USA.
Howlett, daughter of Tim and Julie Howlett, is a junior at Middlebury Union High School. She claimed the title of Miss Vermont Teen USA 2019 after engaging in a personal interview with a selection committee and in active wear, evening gown, and on-stage question phases of competition.
Four other contestants vied for the title, with Arisia Huff of South Burlington placing as 1st runner-up and Taylor Lewis of Georgia placing as 2nd runner-up along with receiving the Teen Congeniality Award, determined by fellow contestants. The new Miss Vermont Teen USA, Jenna Howlett, also received the Teen Photogenic Award.
Howlett will promote her personal platform, “You’re My FFAV: Rising Above Bullying,” during her reign and as she prepares to compete in the Miss Teen USA national competition in 2019 (date and location of which has yet to be determined).
The Miss Vermont USA and Miss Vermont Teen USA competition was directed and produced by state director Glenn Brown, of GDB Theatre & Pageant Productions.
