Men’s lacrosse advances in NCAAs

The Middlebury College men’s lacrosse team won two games this past weekend at an NCAA Division III regional hosted by Union College.

The Mount Abraham-Vergennes girls’ lacrosse team improved to 6-4 with a pair of recent one-sided road victories.

The Middlebury Union High School girls’ lacrosse team dropped three road games between May 10 and 15; their record fell to 1-9 for the season. 

The Mount Abraham-Vergennes boys’ lacrosse team outlasted host Burlington on Monday, 11-8, improving to 6-2 in the process. 

The Middlebury College women’s lacrosse team breezed past visiting SUNY-Geneseo on Sunday, 19-4, in a second-round NCAA Division III contest.

The Mount Abraham-Vergennes boys’ lacrosse team claimed a pair of home victories in recent action, including a win over defending champion Montpelier in a rematch of the 2022 Division III final. The Eagles improved to 5-2 with the two wins. 

The Middlebury Union High School girls’ lacrosse team dropped three games between May 3 and 9. The Tigers’ record dropped to 1-7 for the season with the setbacks. 

The top-seeded Middlebury College women’s lacrosse team claimed the NESCAC championship on Sunday by defeating third-seeded Tufts, 19-13.

The Mount Abraham-Vergennes girls’ lacrosse team split a pair of recent games against two of the top teams in Division II.

Undefeated Tufts defeated second-seeded Middlebury College men’s lacrosse in the NESCAC final, but the Panthers got an at-large bid to the NCAA Division III tourney.

Division II title contender Hartford breezed past the D-II Mount Abraham-Vergennes boys’ lacrosse team on Monday, 18-3, dropping the Eagles’ record to 3-2. 

Division I title contender Burr & Burton defeated the Middlebury Union High School girls’ lacrosse team on Monday, 19-9, in a game played on Middlebury College’s Kohn Field due to wet conditions on the Tigers’ Fucile Field. 

The Mount Abraham-Vergennes girls’ lacrosse team breezed past host Harwood on Tuesday, 16-4, as the Commodores moved their record back to .500 at 3-3.

The No. 2 seed Middlebury College men’s lacrosse team got past visiting No. 7 Hamilton in a NESCAC quarterfinal on this past Saturday, 14-13, in double overtime.
