DONALD KENYON

MIDDLEBURY — Donald “Don” Joseph Kenyon, 85, of Middlebury died Monday, Nov. 16, 2015, at the UVM Medical Center.

Visiting hours are onThursday, Nov. 19, 2015, from 4-6 p.m. at the Sanderson-Ducharme Funeral Home, 117 South Main St., Middlebury.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated onFriday, Nov. 20, 2015, at 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Middlebury with the Rev. William Beaudin as the celebrant.

Burial will be private.

Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice.

NORMAN MILLER

SHOREHAM — Norman G. Miller, 87, a 43-year Shoreham resident, passed away at home suddenly on Monday, Nov. 16.

He was born in Boston, Mass., on June 9, 1928, the son of the late George D. and Georgina M. (Deurden) Miller. He attended local schools and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He retired from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as an animal handler after many years of service.

Norman enjoyed building model airplanes and cars, as well as gardening and fishing. He was predeceased by his wife, Charlene (Lilly) Miller.

BEVERLY PARKER

MONKTON — Beverly A. Parker, 72, passed away Sunday, Nov. 15, 2015, at her home in Monkton.

She was born June 5, 1943, in Weybridge, Vt., the daughter of Lester and Martell Brace.

Beverly is survived by her husband, Charles Parker; two children, Ricky Parker, and David Parker and wife Sherry, all of Monkton; three grandchildren, Joey, Jason and Joshua; two great-grandchildren, Anna and Mason; and several brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by a son, Charles Parker Jr., and several brothers and sisters.

WARREN POTTER

BRANDON — Warren C. Potter of Brandon died at home on Nov. 9, 2015 with Rose by his side.

He was born Oct. 11, 1934, to Olive and Charles Potter of Ferrisburgh. He enjoyed country music, dancing and friends.

He is survived by Rose, Kenneth, Jessica, Patrick, Wendy and Cassie Clark.

He was predeceased by his parents, brothers and sisters.

Burial is at Gage Cemetery in Ferrisburgh on Nov. 24, 2015, at 11 a.m. A celebration of his life is at the Neshobe House, 32 West Seminary St., Brandon, at 1 p.m.

RAYMOND RILEY

SAN DIEGO, Calif. — Raymond C. Riley passed away on Nov. 13, 2015, in San Diego, Calif. Raymond was born on Nov. 4, 1928, in Bridport, Vt., and was the youngest child of Alphonzine Pidgeon and Harry Riley. He was 87 years old and a resident of San Diego since 1959.

FRANKLIN TAYLOR

MIDDLEBURY — Franklin Niles Taylor died Nov. 12, 2015. He was born in St. Petersburg, Fla., on June 11, 1927, the son of Vermont parents, Richard W. Taylor and Marion (Niles) Taylor. He and his parents moved back to Vermont when he was 10 months old. He attended schools in Montpelier, graduating from MHS in June 1945.

ALEXANDRA WYLIE

WEST SALISBURY — Alexandra “Alex” Pearson Wylie died at her home in West Salisbury on Nov. 16, 2015, with her family by her side. Alex was a longtime resident of Addison County, having lived in Leicester and then West Salisbury for over 40 years. Alex was born in New York City in 1948 and grew up in the Riverdale community of the Bronx. After graduating from Concord Academy in 1966, Alex attended the University of Pennsylvania, graduating in 1970.

DONALD YOUNGS JR.

LEICESTER — Donald Heard Youngs Jr., 88, of Leicester died Nov. 14, 2015.

He was born in Rockford, Ill., on Jan. 7, 1927, the son of Donald and Beatrice (Hoffman) Youngs Sr. He moved to Vermont in 2007.

He graduated from Freeport (Ill.) High School, class of 1945, as president of the Latin Club and editor of the yearbook. He was well traveled, having been to Europe, China and Asia. He was an avid reader and a lover of books.

A celebration of his life will take place, at a later date.

SUZANNE ALLEN

LINCOLN — Suzanne Brubaker Allen was born Dec. 8, 1935, in Columbus, Ohio, to Mildred Schlupp Brubaker and J. Walter Brubaker. She attended the Columbus School for Girls and went on to graduate from Smith College in 1957. Following graduation she spent two exciting years working for the American Field Service in NYC and eventually married Charles C. Allen in 1960.

EDLA BROWNE

BRIDPORT — Edla I. (Sollace) Browne, 93, passed away peacefully in the comfort and care of her home on Tuesday, Nov. 10. A lifelong Bridport resident, she was born on April 19, 1922, a daughter of the late Henry and Ida (Bodette) Sollace. She attended and graduated from local schools, and retired from ACAS (Dept. of Agriculture) as Office Manager. She was the wife of the late Clifton Browne who predeceased her on Aug. 31, 2003.

Submitting an obituary

The Addison Independent publishes paid obituaries and free notices of passing. Paid obituaries cost 25-cents per word, and $10 per photo. The obituary will publish as it is submitted on the date of the family’s choosing.

For those who do not wish to purchase an obituary, the Addison Independent offers anyone with a local connection the opportunity to publish a notice of passing. These notices may be up to 100 words and are subject to editing by our news department.

Submissions must be received by 11 a.m. on Wednesday for publication in the Thursday paper and 11 a.m. on Friday for Monday’s paper.

Generally, obituaries follow this form:
TOWN — Name, age, of town, died on date, of cause of death. He/She was born on date in town, the son/daughter of father's name and mother's name, including maiden name in parentheses.

Then include a paragraph or two about where the person went to school and what they did for work; where they lived, who they married and when.

Add a sentence or two about what made the person special to family and friends, including hobbies, avocations or other telling details about their life.

He/She is survived by spouse's name; children named individually (and their spouses and towns of residence, if appropriate); siblings named individually; number of grandchildren, parents or other immediate family members.

He/She was predeceased by names of immediate family members.

A memorial service will be held (fill in details of date, time, and place, plus officiate if applicable) with interment at (place). Memorial contributions may be made to (name and complete address, if applicable).
