By Robert Keren

MIDDLEBURY — One of Emmie Donadio’s fondest memories of her 28 years at the Middlebury College Museum of Art was curating the “13 Alumni Artists” exhibition in celebration of the college’s bicentennial.

“I loved doing that alumni exhibition in 2000, for which I also had the pleasure of serving as a juror,” she said. “I visited nearly all 13 of the artists in their studios, from Los Angeles to Chicago to New York, and talked with them about which of their works would go into the exhibition.”

MIDDLEBURY — Town Hall Theater is recruiting local artists to put a prettier face on a chain link fence that will temporarily encircle one of Middlebury’s most prominent downtown parks for the next three years.

It’s being called the “Chain Link Gallery” project and will take center stage at Triangle Park, which will be surrounded by the impending $72 million effort to supplant the Main Street and Merchants Row rail bridges with a tunnel. The heaviest construction work on that tunnel is expected to occur in 2020.

Northern Daughters gallery in Vergennes welcomes “Everything All Together,” a solo exhibit of large scale oil paintings from Hannah Secord Wade. The exhibit features Wade’s newest work from her current project. Wade’s loose gestures and repeated color palette create a visually pleasing body of work.  Arranged on a consistent horizon her work is composed of recognizable elements, seemingly discarded from a still life, and unrecognizable bits that are blurred or partially buried.
