Vergennes Police Log: Welfare checks, alleged harassment

Incidents that required action from Vergennes police between April 1 and 7 included several welfare checks, alleged harassment by an ex-boyfriend, and an investigation of an untimely death. Police also received reports from parents of unfortunate incidents for informational purposes, including one from the parent of a Vergennes Union Elementary School student.

Vermont State Police Log: Starksboro man cited for domestic assault

This past Sunday, April 7, Vermont State Police responded to a disturbance on States Prison Hollow Road in Starksboro at around 9:20 a.m. Trooper investigated and said they determined that Chase Gibbs-Emilo, 25, of Starksboro assaulted a family member.

Middlebury police cited Jerry L. Hoffman, 31, of Middlebury for attempted murder, after he allegedly stabbed a man multiple times during an incident on College Street during the early evening of March 20.

Police say a Jerry L. Hoffman randomly attacked a couple then was chased into Otter Creek. One victim is at UVM Medical Center, Hoffman is in jail.
