MIDDLEBURY — Middlebury police cited Mary Brouillard, 18, of Brandon for providing false information to a police officer and for driving with a suspended license on South Pleasant Street on Sept. 27.

In other action last week, Middlebury police:

•  Investigated a possible theft from a Stewart Lane residence on Sept. 22.

•  Received into evidence on Sept. 22 a medical examination kit from a person who may have been a sexual assault victim.

•  Assisted Barre City police on Sept. 22 with an investigation into a shooting incident that had occurred in that city.

•  Assisted Middlebury Regional EMS with a suicidal person on Water Street on Sept. 22.

•  Investigated a vandalism complaint at a College Street location on Sept. 22. A group of juveniles is alleged to have damaged a wooden staircase at the building. The juveniles have been contacted and an investigation is ongoing, police said.

•  Received a report on Sept. 22 of a possible domestic assault that occurred this past August. An investigation into the matter continues.

•  Assisted an elderly man who had been hitchhiking on Route 7 South on Sept. 22.

•  Determined that a vehicle damaged the road sign at the intersection of Elm and Exchange streets, then left the scene on Sept. 23.

•  Were informed of a theft from a Hepburn Road location on the Middlebury College campus on Sept. 23.

•  Investigated a report that the awning to the Addison Central Teens center was cut and damaged on Sept. 23. Police are investigating the incident.

•  Served a no-trespass order on an unauthorized camper parked at the Green Mountain Power property at the Marble Works complex on Sept. 23.

•  Assisted the Vermont Department of Children & Families with a case in the Happy Valley Road area on Sept. 24.

•  Received a request from the Vermont medical examiner to investigate the death of an infant on Sept. 24. Police determined the mother of the deceased infant resides in New Haven, so the case was turned over to Vermont State Police. The Addison Independent has requested details on this case from VSP.

•  Investigated a report of lost or stolen money from a Porter Drive location on Sept. 24.

•  Investigated a vandalism complaint and possible attempted larceny from a vehicle that was parked at the Abbey Pond Trail head on Sept. 24.

•  Responded to a harassment complaint on Court Street on Sept. 24.

•  Interviewed a Middlebury Union High School student who alleged on Sept. 25 that an ex-boyfriend had been sending threatening messages via Facebook.

•  Assisted two MUHS students who on Sept. 25 reported receiving anonymous threatening text messages.

•  Received a report that someone broke both fog lights on a vehicle parked on Court Street Extension on Sept. 26.

•  Were informed that someone had taken a package that had been delivered to a High Street home by UPS on Sept. 26.

•  Provided traffic control around a vehicle that had broken down in a travel lane of Route 7 South on Sept. 26.

•  Received a report that someone had stolen a purse from Two Brothers Tavern on Main Street on Sept. 26.

•  Issued court diversion paperwork to a person found to be in possession of marijuana on Sept. 27.

•  Quieted a noisy party at a Park Street residence on Sept. 27.

•  Seized a marijuana pipe from a person near the intersection of South Main Street and Storrs Avenue on Sept. 27.

•  Responded to a noise complaint on Case Street in East Middlebury on Sept. 27.

•  Assisted Vermont State Police on Sept. 27 in locating a suspect in an arson fire in Leicester. The Addison Independent has requested details on this case from VSP.

•  Located, and placed into evidence, an iPhone found in the Court Street Extension area on Sept. 27.

•  Responded to a report from a local juvenile who said he did not feel safe at his home on Sept. 28.

•  Assisted Bristol police in locating a child that was late for a custody exchange on Sept. 28.

•  Responded to a report of an attempted suicide on Middlebury College campus on Sept. 28. Middlebury College took the patient to Porter Hospital for counseling, according to police.

•  Investigated a reported family disturbance at a Jayne Court residence on Sept. 28. Police determined the dispute to have been verbal.

•  Cleared some debris from Route 7 South on Sept. 28.

•  Assisted a Cross Street resident experiencing some mental health problems on Sept. 28.

•  Investigated a report of a missing juvenile on the Trail Around Middlebury on Sept. 28. The juvenile was located before the police arrived.

•  Issued warnings to some people seen carrying open containers of alcohol on Porter Field Road and South Main Street on Sept. 28.

•  Received reports of unspecified “suspicious activity” in the Gorham Lane and Bakery Lane areas on Sept. 29.
