Arthur Joseph Bell, 69, of Orwell
ORWELL — Arthur Joseph Bell, 69, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2025, surrounded by his family at his home in Orwell. He was born is Southington, Conn., June 13, 1955, the son of Edward V. and Helen (Burke) Bell.
At the age of 16 he and his family moved to Vermont, where he spent the rest of his life. Art worked at various jobs in the area including construction and carpentry, local dairy farms, snow plowing and other odd jobs.
He was an active member of the Orwell Volunteer Fire Department for 18 years. He also taught Line Dancing.
Art is survived by his wife, Irene of Orwell; four sons, Edward Bell of Orwell, Michael (Stacy) Lee of Pittsford, Mark (Renee) Lee of Brandon, Craig (Shauna) Lee of Brandon; one daughter, Melissa Smith of Brandon; and two sisters, Elizabeth Walker of Orwell and Mary Kacillas of Southington, Conn. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Cloey Bell, Bella Smith, and Morgan, Kristen, Courtney, Julia and Anna Lee.
A celebration of his life will be held at the Town of Orwell Fire Department at a later date. Private interment will take place in Mountain View Cemetery, Orwell.
Memorial Contributions may be made in his memory to the Orwell Volunteer Fire Department, P.O Box 124 Orwell, VT 05760.
