Welch seeks to make it easier for farmers to access credit

U.S. Sen. Peter Welch, a member of the Senate Agriculture Committee, this week introduced the Debt Relief and Farm Credit Access Act. The proposed law would update USDA Direct and Guaranteed Farm Loans requirements to give farmers greater flexibility in accessing credit and help distressed borrowers restructure burdensome debt.
