Janice Doreen Martell of Bristol
BRISTOL — Janice Doreen Martell passed away peacefully on Sept. 22, 2024, in her sleep after her struggle with brain cancer.
She is survived by her three children, Linda Conley, Michael Martell and partner Elizabeth Lewis, and Gary Martell and wife Melissa Boomhauer; and also an adopted grandson, James Arnold. She is also survived by several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Roger Martell, and a daughter, Cindy Mach, in February of this year.
As a young girl she enjoyed going to square dances with her friends. She worked at Drake and Smith for several years. She loved camping and spending time with her family.
Special thanks to her niece Denise Norris for the extra care she gave at the end and to the many doctors and nurses who made her last months comfortable.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the McClure Miller Respite House in Colchester.
There will be calling hours at the Brown-McClay Funeral Home in Bristol at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 27, followed by a memorial service at the funeral home. There will be a burial at Greenwood Cemetery in Bristol. ◊
